"Hello there" (General Kenobi, SW:E3). My name is Austin, and I'm a 25-year-old graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design from Full Sail University. As an Eagle Scout with a passion for the video game industry, I am eager to embark on a lifelong career in game design. My journey has equipped me with essential technical skills and critical thought processes that are fundamental to the various stages of game development, shaping me into the designer I am today.
In my free time, I immerse myself in playing and creating games, streaming, video editing, graphic design, music, cooking, and mixology. I am also an avid Magic the Gathering player! World of Warcraft has been a pivotal influence, driving my decision to pursue game design. As a dedicated fan for 20 years, I transitioned from jumping into lava and dying because I "wanted to find out what would happen" to a globally-ranked Cutting Edge raider. This evolution fueled my fascination with game systems, sparking a desire to understand the intricacies that make WoW so compelling.
My deep dive into game systems not only enhanced my gameplay skills but also instilled a passion for combat and encounter design. A mentor once told me, "We want to tell a story by punching players in the face," and this philosophy resonated with me. I am now captivated by the challenge of bringing characters to life through dynamic and engaging encounters.
